Lerab Ling

.

Under the gracious patronage of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Lerab Ling is one of the main centres preserving the authentic study and practice of Tibetan Buddhism in Europe.

Lerab Ling was founded in 1991 by Sogyal Rinpoche together with a first generation of Western Buddhists students. Since then, and up until today, many great masters visit Lerab Ling, giving profound teachings and bestowing their blessings, in particular His Holiness the Dalai Lama in 2000 and 2008. Lerab Ling is a member of the French Buddhist Union [Union bouddhiste de France (UBF)] and the European Buddhist Union [Union bouddhiste européenne (UBE)], and is also a founding member of the Tibetan Buddhist Federation [Fédération du bouddhisme tibétain (FBT)].

Located in lush greenery within the Haut-Languedoc Regional Natural Park, Lerab Ling offers a natural environment, preserved and calm, conducive to inner serenity. At the heart of this majestic nature, Lerab Ling remains a living place that hosts a large community of monastic and lay members; its main vocation is to allow the discovery, study and practice of Buddhism. To this end, teachings and blessings of the Buddha are shared with people who seek a complete spiritual path to enlightenment... or even simply a temporary refuge, more or less long, away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Lerab Ling is a wonderful and very special place to relax, reflect and find inner peace.
